What food companies have you invested in? We're a mom and daughter team making Organic Kids Food. Redwood City, CA

Do you work with low income families? Are you particularly interested in healthy children and organic food products in that targeted market? How far along does a company have to be before being considered for VC funding? Do you work with people of limited resources but who have superb product offerings? We talked with the District Manager at Whole Foods a couple years ago, he was all in. Times got tough, funds became scarcer, but we are committed to feeding kids the best foods possible and profit sharing with Feeding America (on original business plan). Any info you can supply is appreciated.

We have not invested in any food companies to date. Our focus is on early stage technology, and usually we work in the mobile, media, software markets. We've got lots of experience in these markets, and very little in food. Our experience has shown us that it's better to stick with what we know.
We wish you the best success in your food company, and we agree it's a needed business and really worthwhile cause.
