If I need to present an idea to a VC without a demo available what all I should present?

If I need to present an idea (an alternate to Twitter, somewhat in between Twitter and Facebook) to a VC without a demo available what should I present? Without a demo is it even worth approaching a Venture company?

I do not have the demo ready but the idea needs lot of work to materialise. Should i even approach a VC for this or just not worth the effort.

A demo is not needed, but a summary of your team, product idea, market trends and your insights into how you'd approach the start of the company is essential. This can be one slide or 20, but our experience is somewhere between 4-10 slides is the best way to convey who you are and what you're building.
